Two Chords AB and CD, are equidistant from the center of a circle. AB=3x+7 and CD=27-x. Solve for x and find the lengths of AB and CD

**Reiny**, Friday, June 10, 2011 at 11:16pmIf they are equidistant, the clearly they must be equal

so solve

3x + 7 = 27-x

4x = 20

x = 5

AB = 3(5)+7 = 22

CD = 22
