Let the direction of the 1 n vector be up (+y direction). The components of the resultant are:
1 n: 1 j
(j is a unit vector in +y direction)
2 n: -1 j + sqrt3 i
(i is a unit vectyor in +x direction)
3 n: -1.5 j -(3/2)sqrt3 i
vector sum:
-1.5 j + -(1/2)sqrt3 i
magnitude = sqrt[2.25 + 0.75)= sqrt3
