(1/10x^2-1/2x-3/10)+(1/2x^2+1/4x-1/5
remember , we can only add "like" terms
= (1/10)x^2+(1/2)x^2 + (-1/2)x+(1/4)x -3/10-1/5
= (3/5)x^2 - (1/4)x - 1/2
( I added the fraction of the like terms)
