If you draw a picture, and imagine that the truncated cone is produced to its vertex V where the diameter is zero, then

height from V to the section at which the diameter is 2"

= 2*4" = 8"

Height of complete cone = 4"+8"=12"

Height of "missing" cone = 8"

Volume of complete cone

= πr²h/3

= 12π(3/2)²/3

= 9π

Volume of "missing" cone

=πr²h/3

=8π(2/2)²/3

=(8/3)π

Therefore volume of the truncated cone

= 9π - (8/3)π

= ...

Volume of comp
