note that 36/9 is also equal to 4.
thus we look for fractions that is also equal to 4.
the denominator of 4 is 1 (any number divided by 1 is itself). thus we only multiply the numerator and denominator by the same number to get an equivalent fraction. for instance, let's multiply 4/1 by 2:
4/1 * 2/2 = (4*2)/(1*2) = 8/2
thus 8/2 is an equivalent fraction.
let's try multiplying by 3:
4/1 * 3/3 = (4*3)/(1*3) = 12/3
thus 12/3 is also another equivalent fraction.
multiplying by 4,
4/1 * 4/4 = (4*4)/(1*4) = 16/4
16/4 is another equivalent fraction.
