In the book "Of Mice and Men" by John Steinbeck, describe the atmosphere that is created by the imagery in the first two paragraphs of the novel.

What level is "a good level"?
I already read this book, twice, and i loved it. Steinbeck creates an unsettling/calm atmosphere. Almost as if everything is TOO peaceful.
