Sketch the graph of each function below and give the domain and range for :
1. f(x)= ( x1)to the power of two minus 2.

1. F(x) = Y = (X1)^2 2.
To graph the function, find 2 points on each side of the vertex:
(1,2), (0,1), V(1,2), (2,1), (3,2).
Domain: Since there is no denominator that can become zero and cause the function to be undefined, the domain
is all real values of X.
Range: The lowest point on the graph
is the vertex with a Ycoordinate of
2. Therefore, the range is all values
of Y from 2 to infinity.
