phillip has a 40foot ladder that is placed 11 feet from a vertical wall. hw far above the ground will the top of the ladder be on the wall, in feet?

Pythagorean Theorem:
a^2 + b^2 = c^2
11^2 + b^2 = 40^2
121 + b^2 = 1,600
b^2 = 1,600  121
b^2 = 1,479
b = 38.46
