How do I determine how many cupcakes to bring for 28 students, using a 14 batch recipe to give each kid 3 cupcakes

Do you mean a 14 PER batch recipe? You want to make 28 x 3 = 84 cupcakes, obviously.
What is 84 divided by 14?
