The gas tank of a car holds 20 gallons of gas. A gallon of gas costs $1.22. When the tank was filled it cost $20. About what percent of the tank was filled?

My goodness, this is an old problem! Gas at $1.22 a gallon???

20/1.22 = 16.39 gallons

16/20 = 0.8 = 80%

And yes, that's what I thought when I read that gas was only $1.22!
