The president of the country PTA organization makes copies of membership lists for all of the elementary schools. Sometimes she may need only few copies but at other times she needs thousands of copies.

TIP copy Service charges 3 ½ cents per copy plus a 42.00 set up charge for each list.

Kurt’s Kwik Print charges 10 cents each for the first 50 copied and 3 cents for additional copies.

Which print shop should she go for the best price on each set of 10, 30, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000 copies?

All you need to do is figure out the prices by both for each set. So for a set of ten by TIP you would do (3.5x10)+42.
For Kurt's, you would do 10x10. However, when you go over 50 copies, Kurt's changes. So the equation for 100 copies would be (10x50)+(3x50). this is because you would subtract the first 50 from the total set. So if the set was 200, you would do (10x50)+(3x150). Hope that helps.
