Can you please check these sentences for me please? Thank you.

1 Puritans was the name given to the more (most?) extreme Protestants within the Church of England.
2)Charles I's reign was characterized by the continuous conflict with the Parliament. Puritans held a considerable majority in Parliament.
3)They wanted to reform the structure of the church eliminating every trace of Catholic influence.
4) It came to war.The forces divided (were divided are bothpossible?) into the Royalists and the Roundheads.
