In your letter of July 18, you made a settlement demand of $20,000; accordingly, we have forwarded your settlement demand: the medical reports from Dr. Hammonds and the hospital records to our client.
Our client has requested that we take the discovery depositions of the plaintiff, Brenda Fletcher, and her mother, Dorothy Fletcher; consequently, please send us a list of dates on which you would be available to take these depositions. It is their opinion, that they need this information before they can proceed to make an evaluation of this case. At the time of these depositions, we will be glad to make available any company employee or employees that you desire to depose.
It is my understanding, that my associate is having some difficulty obtaining answers to your interrogatories. He has scheduled a meeting with the supervisor and some of the employees from the Production Department to determine who did the repair work on the defective emergency breaking device on the stamping machine; therefore, I see no reason not to proceed with the depositions. We will certainly get this information to you as soon as possible. If you feel that these answers must precede the depositions, let me know.
