As you know, Anne frequently refers to how much she appreciates and enjoys nature. Why is nature so important to Anne? What does nature represent that she so desires? How do Anne’s passages on nature in the diary affect her mood and affect the mood of the diary?
(this is on the book the diary of a young girl by anne frank)
Anne never went outside their apartment in Amsterdam for two and a half years. It's hard to imagine -- and it's no wonder that she yearned for nature and the outdoors.
Nature is so important to Anne because it represents something that she can't have while hiding in the annex. Nature represents to Anne freedom, calm, beauty, and warmth. They make her mood change because it is something she yearns for it it makes her sad that this one thing that she wants so bad she can't have because of the war and it makes the mood of the dairy more heartfelt, pitiful, and compassionate.
