two thirds of 9 is 6 and one third of 18 is 6 if you draw a gragh of 9 divide it into three sections.each section is a third,two of those sections equal two thirds which is 6.now a graph of 18 divided into 3 sections each section is 6.each section represents one third. 6 is the same for both,hope this helps.
