Homework Help: Algebra B

Posted by Nancy on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 12:58am.

x^2 - 5/2x + 25/16 = -4 + 25/16
= (x-5/4)^2 = -64/16 + 25/16
= (x-5/4)^2 = -39/16

Would someone please explain how we arrived at

(x - 5/4)^2 = -64/16 + 25/16 from

x^2 - 5/2x + 25/16 = -4 + 25/16

Thanks in advance for your help.
