Let f(x)= x^2-2x.

Find f(1+h)-f(1) / h

How do you solve this?

you meant to type

( f(1+h)-f(1)) / h
= ((1+h)^2 - 2(1+h) - (1-2))/h
= (1 + 2h + h^2 - 2 - 2h + 1)/h
=h^2/h
= h

(I recognize this as the question:
Find the slope of the tangent to y = x^2 - 2x when x=1
and that would be 0 )
