Can you please check these sentences for me? Thank you very much.

1) The hotel is very near from here.
How far from here is the hotel?
2) The hotel room was awful. What was the hotel room like?
3) He got in by climbing over the wall.
How did he get in?
4) Prices have increased/risen?
They have raised prices.
5) He never winds his scarf around his neck.
6)Natalie has just finished the Challenge and she is speaking to a journalist about it. She started training for the Challenge in January. 7) They did lots of walks to train (or to get trained). At first, they just had to go for long walks, then they had to carry rucksacks.
8) On the Saturday of the challenge the weather was really hot but then on Sunday it was really cold and wet and she fell 3 times.
9) She was wearing a blue jacket but by the end of the day it was all brown from the mud (She wa covered with mud from head to feet?). She believes it was a completely brilliant but tiring experience.
