FYI"algabra" is not how you spell algebra.
3x^2 12x  24 = 0
This equation cannot be solved by factoring.
Use the Quadratic Formula, or the method of completing the square.
Here is the quadratic formula.
x = (b + (sqrt(b^2  4ac)))/2a
3x^2  12x  24 = 0
a = 3, b = 12, c = 24
Plug these values for a, b, and c in this formula and solve.
