Using the formula for the area of a triangle, A = 1/2 bh, find the area of this triangle pictured. The base is 2x + 16 and the height is 4x. I just don't know how to work the problem.

A = 1/2(2x + 16)(4x)

You have two unknowns, but only one equation.
