Homework Help: math

Tell if the relationship is linear? Write the equation for the relationship.

values for x are showing 1,2,5,8,10,11
values for y are showing 1.5,2.5,5.5,8.5,10.5,11.5

I could not get any relationship I could think of to make these linear. I tried y=2x just to name one of them but they do not come out.

If the relationship is linear, then the line formed by any two points will pass through all points.

Find the line through the first two points. Then check to see if the rest of the points are on that line.
