Fadi is in a boat 3 kilometers away from the nearest point A at the sea shore.5kilometers away from A is the home of fadi.
knowing that he can row 6km/hr and run 10km/hr.the objective of this exercise is to find the position of point B on the sea shore where fadi should land his boat so that he can reach his home at the least possible time.
1) Denote by x the distance AB expressed in km.find the distances from the boat to B and that from B to the home in terms of x.
2) Express the total time needed by fadi to reach his home in terms of x.
3)find x such that the time is minimum.
4) fadi starts rowing at 11:30am. at what time should he reach his home.
