Find the equation of the line that is parallel to the line formed by the equation 3x + 2y = 20 and passes through the point (24, 12).

3x + 2y = 20
rearrange to make y subject so
y=3(x/2)10
so the gradient of the line is 3/2
so the gradient of the new line is 3/2 as it is parallel.
so the new line is of the form
y=(3/2)x + c
you have two values in the question
x=24
y=12
substitute these to find c.
