Solve the equation or inequality for
3(2y4)=93(y+1)The answer is 2. How do you work it out to get the answer?
(x+5)(x3)=9 the answer is 6,4
How do you work it out????

first one:
3(2y4)=93(y+1)
6y  12 = 9  3y  3
6y + 3y = 6+12
9y = 18
y = 2
2nd:
(x+5)(x3)=9
x^2  3x + 5x  15 = 9
x^2 + 2x  24 = 0
(x+6)(x4) = 0
so x+6 = 0 or x4 = 0
x = 6 or x = 4
