Hi for my english class, we have to make an invention using cheap material that is useful, original, and provides a solution to a problem. We actually have to show the class like a prototype of it and I have no idea what to do! Mines on tuesday and I'm so stressed over it. (My idea was to make something that separates plastic and paper for a recycling bin, but i have no idea what i would make..so please help provide me with more ideas for inventions). ITS NOT A SCIENCE FAIR PROJECT, so don't get confused with the ideas that it has to be scientific. Just something useful that uses cheap materials. please help

Here's my problem.

I have an awful lot of cords from my computer, monitor, mouse, printer, and internet connection plugged into my surge protector. The cords are long and create a mess. I have no idea which cord goes with which device.

Can you devise a way to separate and consolidate these cords?

i honestly have no idea, I am so confused what to make right now ugh maybe ill just ask for more time because i have only tommorow to do it and I have no ideas that are realistic :(

I understand your concern and the pressure you're feeling. Finding a simple, useful, and original invention can be challenging, but don't worry - I'm here to help!

To come up with ideas for your invention, let's start by thinking about common problems you encounter in your daily life or the lives of others. Here are a few suggestions:

1. Cord Organizer: Create a device or system that helps organize and manage the chords of electronic devices, such as phones, tablets, or laptops. This could involve using inexpensive materials like cardboard or plastic tubes.

2. Phone Stand: Design an adjustable stand that holds smartphones or small tablets at different angles to make it easier to watch videos, take pictures, or video chat. You could consider using materials like popsicle sticks, elastic bands, or cardboard.

3. Desk Organizer: Invent a practical desk organizer to keep stationery items, such as pens, pencils, and paper clips, in order. You could use materials like empty cans, shoeboxes, or cardboard compartments.

4. Food Container Lid Holder: Create a device or simple invention that can hold various sizes of food container lids, preventing them from getting lost and making it easier to find the right lid when needed. Materials like binder clips or elastic bands could be used for this purpose.

5. Book Page Holder: Design a device or tool that helps hold a book open, making it easier to read without constantly having to use your hands. Consider materials like clothespins, rubber bands, or binder clips.

Remember, these are just initial ideas to get your creative thinking started. It's important to consider the feasibility and practicality of each idea based on the resources and materials available to you. Good luck with your project and presentation!
