I am really stuck on how to figure this answer out, could you please help me?

A stoplight flashes red for 50seconds, yellow for five seconds, and green for 65 seconds. In a 24 hour period, how long is the light red?

It is red 50/(50 + 5 + 65) = 5/12 of the time

5/12 of 24 hours is 10 hours.
