Hi. I am conducting a science experiment to present to a class. Details of experiment below.

Materials:
1 can of non-diet soda
1 can of diet soda
2 buckets of water

1. Fill bucket
2. Put can of non-diet soda into a bucket of water.
3. Wait for the can to either sink or float.
4. Fill other bucket
5. Put can of diet soda into the other bucket that you just filled.
6. Wait for the can to either sink or float.
7. Record your results.

I have conudcted this experiment and was wondering why the can of diet soda floats but the can of non-diet soda does not float?
