Homework Help: English

Thank you very much for your corrections. Can you help me check these ones, too?
1)The poet had to show other people the truth of real emotions. To manage this task (to achieve this goal?), the poet had to use imagination, purifying (?) human emotions and describing (?) the objects of those powerful feelings.
2)During Romanticism childhood was considered as good (?)
3)Colonialism was seen by Europeans as capable of civilizing African people. It led the colonizers to enslave the natives and exploit their natural resources.
4)As for the opposition between black and white, the latter should represent the light, the good because white stands for European civilization.
5)The poet was a moral teacher who showed men how to behave.
6)Conrad’s Heart of Darkness focuses on the opposition between black and white. The black and the white lose their denotative meaning and connote the primitive, noble environment of the jungle and the negative aspects of colonialism respectively.
7)According to the European view white is associated with good and beauty.
