Homework Help: English

"A friend in need is a friend indeed!" is the life lesson that my father taught me. I learned from him that we should try hard to help others. He always wanted me to be a good friend who can help friends in need.

(Is this passage grammatical? Would you correct some unsuitable expressions?)
