I went to www.google.com and entered control mechanisms at "general electric" (including the quotation marks to keep those words together in the search). Yes, there are lots of essay mills in those results (which tells me that lots of students who have gotten this assignment have been posting it for years!), but if you scroll down, you find some articles that will give you ideas, such as these two:
