5/12 - 1/3=?

I know the answer is 1/12 but am stumped on how to write the word problem and draw a picture

Maria made a large, rectangular German chocolate cake. She divided it into 12 equal pieces. She put 5 of these pieces on a plate, intending to take them to her neighbor. However, Juan and his friends came along and ate 4 of those 5 pieces. How many pieces are left?
