sorry, i was to sleepy my type got mess up. my question is if 8 counters are one whole, then what is half?

if 9 counters are one whole, then what is one/third?

please help my last one. !!

half means divided by two,,
if 8 counters = 1 whole
then 8/2 = 4 counters is half.

one-third is divided by three,,
if 9 counters = 1 whole
then 9/3 = 3 counters is one-third.
