Homework Help: English

Can you tell me if these are correct? I have to tell if the verb is transitive or intransitive.

1. Charles Dickens described the slums of London in his novels.

2. Terrible slums and poverty existed along the riverbanks.

3. In ancient times, traders from other countries sailed up river.

4. Ancient Romans built the first bridge across the river.

5. The depth of the Thomas River changes with the tides every day.

1.described=transitive
2.existed=intransitive
3.sailed=intransitive
4.built=transitive
5.changes=intransitive
