During the 1800's, did American society become more

    a) more farm ag like
    b) More like one big group
    c) More diversified (hint: immigration)
    d) is more or less like a anyway

    It is c

Neither a nor d is correct. The U.S. had always been rural and non-industrial.

However, the latter part of the 19th century saw a lot of immigration from eastern and southern Europe. Before that time, most immigrants came from northern and western Europe.
