{4/7x+y=2/7
-1/8x-3/4y=-11/4

Multiply both sides of first equation by 7.

4x + 7y = 2

Multiply both sides of second equation by 8.

-x - 6y = -22

To get x terms equal, multiply both sides by 4.

-4x - 24y = -88

Add first and third equation.

-17y = -86

Solve for y and then for x.
