Solve each equation by factoring:

(2x+1)(3x-2)=10

How do you get -4/3 and 3/2 out of this equation? I'm so confused

You can only use the factors if the right side of the equation is 0

Yours is not, so expand and simplify first

6x^2 - 4x + 3x - 2 = 10
6x^2 - x - 12 = 0

now factor it

(3x+4)(2x-3) = 0
then 3x+4 = 0 or 2x-3 = 0
x = -4/3 or x = 3/2
