Solve using the substitution method. Show your work. If the system has no solution or an infinite number of solutions, state this.

-3x + y = 4

x + 3y = 22

Here's what I came up with (where did I go wrong)

-3x + y = 4

y = 4 - 3x

-3x + (4-3x) = 4

-3x + 1x = 4

-2x = 4

x= -2

-2x + 3(4 - 3x) = 22

-2x + 12 -9x = 22

-2x + 3x = 22

1x = 22

x = 21
