a rental car costs $24 per day plus 25 cents per mile. the total trip costs $54. how many miles were traveled if the trip lasted one day?

54  24 = 30
30/0.25 = ? miles

well since its only one day the car rental would cost $24. so
5424= 30
then divide 30 by the cost per mile(.25)
30/.25=120 so they traveled 120 miles
