**Axel**, Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 12:36amA light year is the distance it takes a beam of light to travel in a year.

The speed of light is 2.99 x 10^8 m/s.

Distance from sun to Earth: 150 000 000 Km

*remember to change km to m

use equation: t=d/v

t=150 000 000 000m/2.99 x 10^8 m/s

t=501sec = 8.35 min

**I rounded the distance and the speed of light. Use values you think are correct - ie your textbook. i beleive i may be off by 0.05 min.
