1. You need the Subject Interrogative and not the Object one: Qu'est-ce qui
#4 is like #2 = Qu'est-ce qui (what is upsetting to you)
Brief explanation on Interrogatives.
Interrogatives are used to begin a question.
Subject of a verb = who? whom? (persons)
qui / qui est-ce qui
= what? (things)
qu'est-ce qui
direct object of a verb = who? whom? (persons)
qui / qui et-ce que (qu')
= what? (things)
que (qu') / qu'est-ce que (qu')
after a preposition = who? whom? (persons)
qui
= what? (things)
quoi
You were working with straight word order, as opposed to inversion. You only needed to choose between: qu'est-ce qui (subject of a verb) and Qu'est-ce que (qu') = direct object of a verb
Sra (aka Mme)
