(How do you read '2015' in the following sentence?)

I will go over to the Philippines in 2015.

Interestingly the way that years have been read has changed from before 2000 until now. It is also slightly different where you are in the world. However, the modern way to read 2015 is to say 'twenty fifteen' rather than 'two thousand and fifteen' by engish speakers. I do note that non- english speakers tend to say 'two thousand and fifteen' as a result of the direct translation from say french.

Saying twenty fifteen is consistent with the 20C when years were referred to as say nineteen sixty six for 1966.

Hope this is helpful.
