Homework Help: mat115

Need assistance with this problem. I have computed the problem but my answer isn't matching one of the multiple choices. What am I doing wrong?

11 - 7 = 4
4 - 6/7
= 3 + 7/7 - 6/7
=3 1/7 which is the same as 22/7
the multiple choices on my test are:
a) 1/5 b) undefined c) 5 d)5/7
Can you show me how you got one of the multiple choices please? Thanks.

Since the denominator is zero, the answer is "undefined"

Hi Drwls,

Can you tell me if I computed this problem correctly? Since the answer, according to you is undefined because of the zero, did I compute the question properly? What should I change in onder to make the end result zero? Thank you so much for your help!!!
