Write an algebraic rule that determines the number of minutes (t) a person's life is shortened by smoking c cigarettes per day for y years if we assume each cigarette takes about five minutes to smoke. If a person smokes 20 cigarettes per day for 10 years by how much has that person's life been shortened?

I just don't know where to start, if someone could help me start I could probably finish it.

So in effect the person loses 15 minutes for each cigarette smoked.

so in y years, he/she would lose 365(15)cy minutes

T = 5475cy minutes
for c=20, y=10
T = 5475(20)(10) minutes = 1095000minutes.

divide by 60 to get hours
divide by 24 to get days, etc.
