Sealing a Gym Floor A gymnasium floor has an area of 2400 square yards. Each gallon of floor sealant covers an area of 350 square feet. How many gallons of sealant are needed to cover the gymnasium floor?

should the equation be set as 2400 sq. yards = 7200 sq. feet
7200 sq ft. / 350 sq ft = 20.5

answer; 21 gallons of floor sealant to cover 2400 sq. yards

  • math - ,

there are 9 square feet in a square yard, not 3

    so 2400(9)/350 = 61.7

    they need 62 gallons
