**Carol**, Monday, July 26, 2010 at 12:21am1. x=18-6y

2y-6=x

therefore, 18-6y = 2y-6

18+6=2y+6y

24=8y

y=3

x= 18-6y

18-(6x3)

x=0

Do the rest by your own.
