Homework Help: Algebra equation

Any advice on this one would be appreciated

I have the equation x+3-1/x=0 and I have an answer of x = 0.30 (to 2 d.p.), I just need to know the steps to get there,

(X+3)-1/X=0.
Multiply both sides by X:
X^2 + 3X - 1 = 0.
Solve using Quadratic Formula.
X = (-3+-sqrt(9 + 4)) / 2
X = 0.30, and -3.3
