First of all, were you required to use the Preterit? I ask because the verb estar has a special meaning in the Preterit. In the imperfect, estaba en el banco = he was in the bank BUT estuvo is a synonym for "llegar" = he got/arrived in the bank. If there was a model, you should have put that first. In any event, other than the special meaning of estar in the Preterit, I'll look at the others.
You did not type #3 completely? He was not in the golf (not gold but golf) club. I'd say he was in the proshop, or golf club (bldg.), etc. Even on the links? Estaba en el club de golf. (I don't know what text and/or vocabulary you have studied.
#5 la estación de servicio (check spelling) or gas station = en la estación gasolinera.
#6. fue al correo OR to the mailbox = al buzón.
