I am writing a paper on the novel Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys. Can someone please help me with my thesis statement.. this is what I have so far..

The novel’s two main characters are Antoinette and her husband Rochester. Both are from two different worlds. In this essay I will focus on the alienation and rejections of Antoinette, both in Jamaican community and later when she marries Rochester. I will argue that Jean Rhys portrayal of Antoinette psychological tension of identity which lead to her alienation derives from her lack of connection with the land. Antoinette and Rochester are affected differently by the same environment. She cannot identify with the world of England from which she is a descendent nor from the West Indies where she was born. She does not have an identity based in a nation or community.

You have more than a statement. Boil it down to one sentence — one statement.
