the measure of the angles of triangle RST are the ratio 2:3:5. find the measure of each angle, and classify the triangle as acute, right or straight

Also -- you probably need to classify each angle -- not the triangle.

i don't have a math text. i had to take it back to the teacher and plus she never thought me how to do this im in pre algebra not trigonometry

but thanks anyways ms.sue, i'll try do this trigonometry crap on my own with out a text book... bye and thanks for the help

This question is plain ol' geometry! Your other questions have been pre-algebra or even beginning algebra.

Lavena,

Can your parents get you a tutor? I think that would help you a lot.

What kind of class is this? Are you supposed to be studying for an exam, but don't have the textbook anymore? Has the teacher given you worksheets or practice sheets or something?

Please go into the websites I've linked above. Choose the general topic you need help with; I find the left column in the first linked website the most helpful.

[I use them (especially the first two) with my grandchildren when they need help with math -- well, except for my oldest one who is going into Calculus in the fall! He's been beyond me for 3 years now!!]

To find the measure of each angle of triangle RST, we can use the fact that the ratio of the measures of the angles is 2:3:5.

Step 1: Calculate the sum of the angles
The sum of the angles in any triangle is always 180 degrees. Therefore, the sum of the three angles in triangle RST is 180 degrees.

Step 2: Determine the measures of the angles
Let the three angles be 2x, 3x, and 5x, where x is a common factor for all three angles. Since the sum of the measures of the angles is 180 degrees, we can write the equation: 2x + 3x + 5x = 180.

Combining like terms, we get: 10x = 180.

Solving for x, we have: x = 18.

Now, we can substitute the value of x back into the equations to find the measures of the three angles:
Angle R = 2x = 2 * 18 = 36 degrees.
Angle S = 3x = 3 * 18 = 54 degrees.
Angle T = 5x = 5 * 18 = 90 degrees.

Step 3: Classify the triangle
To classify the triangle, we need to compare the measures of its angles.
Since all three angles are less than 90 degrees, triangle RST is an ACUTE triangle.

Please study your text materials and try to figure this out yourself.

This is not trignometry.

What kind of class are you taking that doesn't give you a text book or online text materials????

i told u pre algebra... but i had to give back the text book so i don't have any now
