**Ms. Sue**, Sunday, June 20, 2010 at 9:06pm1/2 of 8 = 4

8 + 4 = 12

1/2 of 12 = 6

12 + 6 = 18

1/2 of 18 = 9

18 + 9 = 27

1/2 of 27 = 13.5

27 + 13.5 = 40.5

What do you think the next two numbers are?

**Ms. Sue**, Sunday, June 20, 2010 at 9:39pmI took the first numbers in the sequence -- 8, 12, 18, and 27.

For the next number,

Take 1/2 of 40.5

Add that number to 40.5 to get the next number in the sequence.

- pre algebra -
**Ms. Sue**, Sunday, June 20, 2010 at 10:11pmRight. Half of 40.5 = 20.25

Add:

40.5 + 20.25 = ?

That will give you the sixth number of the sequence.
